Information on this site is often posted as questions arise. If you do not see your problem please contact me for a solution.

Information within this site is primarily, but not limited to, any brand of Desktop Personal Computers (PCs) and Laptops that run on Microsoft Software. ~ MAC and Apple computer questions are welcome.

This site is designed to give you information in an easy to understand manner. All topics and words will be defined to better guide you to your solution. If you are at all confused by the instructions please contact me for further explanation.


NO question is silly, stupid or the like. Even the simple answers escape us a times. A checklist can make our hectic lives smoother.

Software: any program running on your computer.
Software (like Microsoft Windows) runs your machine when you push the button to start it.
All of the hardware in your computer is run by drivers which a type of software to tell your machine which brand the hardware is, and how it works.

You use software when you visit the internet, a browser (like Internet Explorer or Firefox or Safari) allows you to view the web pages.

Documents are created in software like WORD, WORKS, Word Perfect and the like.
Mail that you do not go on the internet to view is run by software like Microsoft Outlook.
Spreadsheets use EXCEL for worksheets and the like.

Hardware: any physical part of your computer including things you attach to it.

Internal things like the motherboard, power supply, fans, memory, video card, sound card, internet connection/card and wireless internet card, also things like your Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, Speakers, CD and DVD drives, external storage drives (aka by many names like USB/flash/thumb drives), Printers, Cameras and MP3 Music Players like Ipods.
