The Greek Revival structure was built as the Methodist Episcopal Church
in 1841. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places
wherein it states the "church has a meeting house form to which was
added a monumental portico and Wren-inspired, two tier central
tower. An elaborate weather vane sits atop the domed roof."

The Poultney United Methodist Church is a progressive congregation with a core set of beliefs centered around social justice and service to individuals; the local, and world communities. This is the beginning of our new website. Not all the links are active. We will be adding pages as the text is prepared. The website will serve as one more way to bring our community together and to reach out to our neighbors. We hope you find the website a useful way to keep up with the activities of the Poultney United Methodist Church. |
